OpenAI, Microsoft and the news plaintiffs file opposing summary judgment motions

· Band Rules and society · 10.8M works claimed · Reported

Newspapers say OpenAI copied their journalism to train its AI. Both sides have now asked the judge to decide without a trial. The papers claim 10.8 million pieces of work were used, a total across all the news plaintiffs rather than the New York Times alone, and OpenAI disputes about 4.5 million of them.
