Anthropic commits up to about $44.6 billion of compute to Nscale

Nscale's SEC registration statement discloses that on 25 August 2026 it entered a series of GPU Services Agreements with Anthropic PBC, which it calls the Anthropic Services Agreements, to provide dedicated GPU infrastructure at its Monarch Compute Campus running Nvidia Vera Rubin NVL72 chips. The filing says those agreements provide for aggregate payments to Nscale of up to approximately 44.6 billion dollars. This item ran for three weeks at Rumoured on a reported 45 billion dollar figure. The filing is the document, and it moves the item to Confirmed and the number to 44.6 billion. It also shows what such a number is: a ceiling on payments under contracts, not money that has changed hands.
